Upon getting to Long Beach located on the south shore of Long Island on my second leg of taking photos on this unusually warm January day with tempertures at a high of 68 degrees. Once I got to the beach with the exception of the strong wind gusts everything was perfect as the waves were rising and crashing down and at the same time fighting the wind as they were trying to rise and curl and come crashing down onto the surf. At times you could see the spray of the top of the waves being taken off by the strong wind gusts. I liked this image as I was able to incorporate the jetty that was about to become covered by the high tide that was moving in quickly, but also the various rows of walls of water that were covered with white caps and were getting stronger and stronger the closer they came to shore.
