While Long Island was getting hit by strong winds and pouring rain from the Tropical Storm Elsa, the weather forecast said there would be a bit of a break for several hours in the late afternoon before more powerful winds and rain would begin to fall on Friday, July 9th. I decided to take my chances and see if I could capture any storm action near the Long Beach area on the south side of Long Island. When I got to Long Beach it was still raining and the sun was beginning to set. Then the rain began to let up and the winds began to die down, so I raced down on the beach and caught the sun setting and the powerful summer time waves crashing on the jetty in Long Beach. The curls and white water were all being caused from the remnants of Tropical Storm Elsa. The sun was quickly setting and the sky was looking more and more dangerous so I decided I had taken several shots and believed I had captured what I wanted so I came home and began to look through the photos I had taken to add to my portfolio.
