While attending one of the premier Classic Car Shows held on Long Island in June 2013 at Old Westbury Gardens located in Old Westbury, New York. I came across a beautiful mint conditioned 1928 Packard 4 Door Sedan. But one of things that really caught my eye after circling the car a couple of times was the remarkable hood ornament, with such incredible details in it, and right at the rear of the hood ornament was the name Packard inscribed. I ran into the owner of the car and he told me that this was the original hood ornament of the car from 1928, making it 85 years old and in remarkable shape. The owner informed me and I verified the information on the computer as I took some notes down from him is that the 1928 Packard Hood Ornament was named, Victoria and known as the "Goddess of Speed", since these cars were built as luxury as well as speed the Packard Hood Ornament had to really stick out from it's competitors of the day. With this outstretched Goddess of Speed named Victoria the manufactures had felt they had accomplished that task. It was an amazing piece to see in person and great to able to photograph it in such away to capture all of the details and blur out the background.
