While in San Diego, California I took a visit over to Coronado. After spending the whole day there I was sitting on a bench waiting for the ferry to come across the bay and bring me back to San Diego. As I sat there I was looking around at the various sites in this quiet and beautiful little town called Coronado. Right at the pier where you got off the ferry and got on it to go back across the bay to San Diego they had various water falls with statues in them, along with fountains with water flowing through them also. I took a look at this Wood Duck sitting there and thought at first it was part of the colorful fountain with a small waterfall running through it. I looked several times but the Wood Duck never moved, then out of the corner of my eye I saw it flinch and I was drawn back to it I could not believe it was real and how still it had been sitting just blending in with the stones on the fountain. It had a vibrant green head which really stuck out, and very detailed brown feathers which also blended perfectly with it's white stomach. I grabbed my camera right away so I could capture this Wood Duck in this scene as he was still not moving and I wanted to get him right on those rocks with the water running over them. I pulled my camera on and focused in on him and got the shot I was looking for. Several minutes later he began to walk around in the fountain and eventually left. I still could not believe he was real after staring at him all of that time.
