After a major snow storm hit the New York area leaving 21 inches in January 2011 I went to this local park located in Manhassett, New York. At this park it is known for having a lot of ducks, mallards and geese. Along with several old wooden bridges that have streams running below them and benches to sit on and enjoy the park. On this day it was 15 degrees out so when I pulled up to the park I put my caught off gloves on that just leave my finger tips exposed and had my winter work boots on and began to venture out to see what I could see and how fast I could see it before I got to cold. After photographing some mallards and geese flying by me, I made my way over this snow hill and saw that the streams were completely frozen. I looked over and saw this beautiful duck with great details on his feathers and great details on his face and head. He almost appeared stuck to the ice. But he got up a couple of times and then sat down I though the position he was sitting in was perfect I had my zoom lens on so I would not have to get to close to any of the birds and frighten them and began to take this ducks photo as he sat perfectly still on the frozen ice.
