FAA WATERCOLOR MARK DOES NOT APPEAR ON FINAL SALES
While at the Queens Zoo located in Queens, New York located on the property where the 1967-68 Worlds Fair was held. I came across this sleeping Barred Owl as it sat perched on a branch and just resting. I sat there for 10 minutes hoping the Barred Owl would open his eyes but it did not happen. I took this photo and several others from different angles of the Barred Owl along with several Black and White photos which one I have on my web site in the Black and White Portfolio, Animal Portfolio and Bird Portfolio. The thing I found so interesting about this virtual unknown zoo was that the city of New York put millions of dollars into it in 1992 to restore it and established a theme that the Queens Zoo would be known largely for housing of animals from the Northern parts of the United States, Canada and Scotland. Obviously areas that are cold.
