While getting ready to leave the beach area in Coney Island, New York as it began to get dark, I turned one more time towards the beach and water and could not believe how pink the sky was turning as the sun was setting in the distance. I have seen many various colored winter sunset and sunrise skies in the past but never one that showed so much pink in it. As I got ready to take my photo I turned and saw how the benches and lampposts on the beach were forming a silhouette image along with the jetties that were outstretched into the water at low tide. As the day had been a little overcast the clouds that were remaining were turning into a pinkish tone and the sun although way in the background was still powerful enough to light up the sky and cause a pinkish reflection across the water. Wonderful winter sunset at Coney Island.
