While visiting various parts of New York City in July 2013 my final stop was to go to the Empire State Building's Observatory Deck located on the 86th Floor. I wanted to get there as the sun was still out so I could see New York City in the day light but also to get there as the sun would begin to set. That day I got lucky and the after being on the deck for 45 minutes the sun began to set over New York City. In this photo I was able to capture the view from the east side of the Empire State Building viewing the famous East River and looking right into Queens and Long Island, along with seeing some landmark buildings in New York.
