While vacationing in Jacksonville, North Carolina I went with my son and his wife to a very quiet vacation area near Wilmington, North Carolina called Emerald Isle. I asked my son where were we going and he said to a beach that they go to all of the time that is very clean and never crowded called Indian Beach. When we arrived I was shocked there was no one on the beach as there was a row of vacation homes so most people did not come out to the beach until 2:00 or 3:00 pm since they only had to turn around and walk back into their homes to get cleaned up. For us it was a good hour ride away. But it was worth it as the sand was a a beautiful clean white and the ocean you could see your feet in. The waves were excellent for body surfing, boogey boarding or surfing as the waves started out far and would climb up high and carry you all the way to shore.
