While attending a Classic Car show that was sponsored by Newsday, Long Island's largest newspaper. The Classic Car show sponsored by Newsday was held at Newsday's headquarters in Melville, New York. The show had over 500 cars, trucks and motorcycles and was called the Field of Wheels Show. While at the show I saw many great looking cars but something that has been catching my eye a lot lately that forced me to create a new gallery has been Automotive Hood Ornaments, Logos and Emblems. Finding out about these pieces of art on these classic cars has been very interesting. The 1965 Ford Mustang came out with the idea of speed and thus needed a emblem that symbolized speed, the Mustang. It was designed to show the Mustang in full stride, galloping in the place it was placed the grill. One of the most recognizable logos in the automotive industry.
