While New York is suffering one of the coldest February's on record during this 2015 winter. There have been numerous stories of the waterways in Manhattan and out on Long Island being frozen over. So being that I only live fifteen minutes from the south shore of Long Island's waterfront I decided to take a ride this past weekend and get some photos of just how bad and how really cold this winter has been. When I arrived at the Nautical Mile in Freeport, New York located on the south shore of Long Island I could not believe what I was seeing. The Nautical Mile is known in New York as one of the most popular fishing areas in the state year round. At this time of year any private charter fishing boats or party fishing boats would be going out and catching cod and ling.
