Photographed this hood ornament from a 1936 Auburn Super Charger because of the art work and the way it stuck out on this large car. Also blurred out any surrounding items so that the full emphasis of this beautiful hood ornament would be right on the main subject. The 1936 Auburn Super Charger hood ornament was nicknamed The Flying Lady as the 1936 Auburn Super Chargers came out of the showroom and were able to exceed speeds of 100 mph. The idea of The Flying Lady was to give the impression of speed as the car was going so fast that The Flying Lady was being drawn back against the wind due to the amazing speed of the car for that period of time. The 1904 Auburn was a touring car model. Equipped with a tonneau, it could seat 2 or 4 passengers and sold for US$1000.
