As we were heading in from New Jersey waters into Oceanside, New York located on the south shore of Long Island after a winter's day of striper fishing I was cleaning some of my fishing gear, when the first mate went to the back of the boat and started to fillet some of our catches for the day so that when we pulled into the port he would just have to hose down the inside and wash the outside. The sun was already setting as the last rays could be seen over a building on turn we had just came in from. As the charter boat's first mate began to fillet the the stripers he would throw their skins out to the diving seagulls who were more then happy to hover our boat like vultures. I took my camera out as I felt I had a little of everything what I was looking at and did not want to pass up the opportunity. I took several shots from different angles, and caught the sun setting, with it's rays reflecting out into the clouds and reflecting into the water and the first mate filleting the stripers and the seagulls hovering our boat as we headed into port. A great way to end a great day of fishing.
