After leaving the dock and heading out to the ocean to begin trolling for striped bass we had to go around this long jetty that separates the Atlantic Ocean from the inlets in Freeport. As we were passing and heading down to fish outside of the Jones Beach areas I noticed several fisherman fishing dangerously close to the end of the jetty for striped bass, a good heavy striped bass can rip you right off the jetty and if you are wearing fishing boots as I was you will sink right to the bottom. On top of that I cold see the incoming tide splashing against the jetty and leaving the green seaweed making it even more dangerous to be fishing so close to the end of the jetty. Upon returning for the day there were still fisherman out there and no reports at the docks of any injuries.
