While on vacation in Montauk in the middle of winter in February came across the oldest cattle ranch in the United States the Deep Hollow Ranch established in 1658 and for a fair price the ranch hands will take you for a great ride through the trails of Montauk and out onto the beaches. On this particular day we had just experienced a snow fall that left three inches from the night before and as we were getting ready to ride the snow was still coming down. I saw this interesting old outhouse that looked perfect in the setting and could have looked perfect in the old west. I did not get the exact date that this outhouse was built on the ranch but the wood as I examined it was old and warn and the signs that stated outhouse, cowboys and cowgirls were just as worn as the wood holding this small wood frame building together. I thought it was interesting enough to put into my gallery to show what it was like in 1658 and that these facilities are still around and have not changed unfortunately in certain areas.
