While walking through a park in Manhassett, New York on the north shore of Long Island right after a blizzard in January 2011 that left New York with 21 inches of snow to climb out from I photographed many mallards, geese and ducks in this one particular park. While I was heading towards the stream that had several small bridges to walk over and view the stream I noticed this rather large Canadian Goose just land and walk slowly into the water and began to wade. The first thing I noticed about him was his size and the great details on his feathers on his back. I turned my camera to black and white to get a different perspective look at this goose and enjoyed the detail I was able to capture, with the water dripping off of the goose's body and the ripples of water where the goose had just walked into the water and stood still, almost posing for the photo. Great details also in his back's feathers and beak.
