Description
While traveling home from the Poconos in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania back to New York along I-80 I stopped and asked a police officer where along I-80 would be the best spot to get some photos of the Delaware Water Gap. He gave me this particular location and told me people come here to just lay on the sand and relax in the sun or sit under the trees and relax. He said going in the water is forbidden for swimming since it has a very strong undertow that can take the best swimmers down under the water and bring them down the Delaware Water Gap. When I arrived at this area I did see all of the warning signs for no swimming. In this particular photo although you do not see white water currents on the top but this is where the Delaware Water Gap begins to make its move around the mountains and pick up speed and begins to become dangerous as this is where the current picks up and wraps strongly around the mountains and further down the gap the rapids begin to get powerful. This was one of my favorite angles of this peaceful location as I was able to capture the beauty of the mountains covered in rows of beautiful trees and the picturesque reflections of the sky, trees and bushes in the Delaware Water Gap. Remarkable site to be able to see and photograph.
