This past Easter Sunday, I attended the annual Easter Sunday Classic Car Show and Parade in the town of Garden City, New York on Long Island. There was close to 1,000 cars at the show ranging in years from the 1900's up to 2017, every make and model from muscle cars, low riders, rat hot rods, the classics and your 50's and 60's racing machines. The show started at 10:00 am and the parade followed at exactly 1:00 pm until there was no more cars left to come out onto the street. I was able to get some great photos of the various cars at the show even though it was crowded and there were so many beautiful cars to photograph, but that is why I got there so early. The best part about the day was the parade because of the close to 1,000 cars in the show about 500 participated in the parade and they came out nice and slow so everyone could get photos of their favorite cars. When I saw this mint condition 1969 Dodge Super Bee coming out of the parking lot I got my camera all ready because this was a car I had been waiting for. Just as it began to rev its engine it stopped right in front of me and I was able to get an excellent angle shot of this 1969 beauty with its sleek body style and the four lights on the very narrow grill along the insignia of the Super Bee on the rear panels of the car. In addition, this beauty had a black verticle pin stripe running on the rear panel on each side of the car. The car like most from this era was a two door with a hard top with an excellent choice of wheels to make it look even better. For more information on the Dodge Super Bee please feel free to read below;
The first version of the Super Bee was based on the Coronet . In this period it was only available with two-door body. The car was the entry model of the Dodge muscle car and was sold at a price of 3,072 dollars . The engine base was 383 there (6.3 L ) which provided Magnum 335 hp (250 kW ). It was available as an option the Hemi engine from 426 us (7 L) which provided 425 hp (317 kW). The choice of this engine, however, made up the price of the car by one third, alone cost $ 715, and in the first year of production were only 125 of the Super Bee with the most powerful engine. Always in demand was available gearbox manual four-speed Mopar A-833 . The car was then equipped with suspensions reinforced and tires from high performance. Externally, the model is distinguished by a strip with the logo Bee , positioned on one end of the trunk.
In 1969 he was introduced a body hardtop and snorkel Ramcharger . Toward the middle of that year became available, always optional third engine: the 440 there (7.2 L) Six Pack which developed maximum output of 390 hp (291 kW). The name of this engine derived it from realized with three carburetors double body. As power band the new engine was positioned between the base 383 and the Hemi. The price of the version of the Super Bee features Engine Six Pack was the highest of the basic version 463 dollars.
