Newsday, Long Island's largest newspaper, decided to host a Classic Car Show and called it "Field of Wheels", the event was held on Newsday's headquarters located in Melville, New York. The show attracted close to 500 cars of every make and model and had some very interesting items besides just cars, motorcycles, and trucks. I have started a new gallery that concentrates on showcasing classic hood ornaments, logos, emblems and paint jobs along with researching them and writing them up along side my photo. The background and history of how ornaments, logos, emblems and paint jobs came about are sometimes really fascinating. This particular paint job was done by one of the best car artist on Long Island a man by the name of Edward Ponsiek out of Bethpage, New York. This fantastic detailed painting is the Lucky Lady shown with a poker hand of Four of a Kind, Aces High. It was requested to be put on a 1932 Ford Convertible Roadster as a sexy eye catcher and to show off the Roadster as one of the highest cars equally the high hand in poker, and as an addition the Lucky Lady another catch phrase used in poker as the Lucky Lady's Hand. Excellent artistic paint job and truly was an eye catcher.
