While touring New York City on December 30, 2016 around 8:00 pm I made it over to Rockefeller Center and took some photos of the Christmas tree and surrounding area. New York City at this time was becoming a mob scene with the anticipation of New Years Eve the following night. Barriers were up, police were all over along with triple the amount of tourists that New York City usually has. I decided to walk up 48th Street and 5th Avenue and see Saint Patrick's Church. As I was walking on 48th Street towards 5th Avenue there was just a bunch of people not moving, I could hear loud Christmas music but could not see where it was coming from. Several minutes later it stopped and the crowd began to disburse, I quickly made it up to the corner of 48th Street and Fifth Avenue and was right across the street from the famous store Saks Fifth Avenue. Within three minutes of standing there a clock started to tick down and next Christmas Music started to come from the Saks Fifth Avenue store, within seconds after that this amazing light show appeared on the front of the store the scene was fantastic and nobody was moving or taking their eyes off of it. I took as many photos as I could as the light shows colors changed from second to second. I had never heard of this show or seen it so it was a great find, and great to be able to photograph it.
