As the Codfather Charter Boat my friends and I were on, on December 8, 2016 heading out 5 miles offshore for some Blackfishing, the waves began to increase in height and before putting my camera back in it's case I braced myself against the side of the cabin and took several photos of the sun breaking over the horizon and beginning to reflect onto the Atlantic Ocean. The streaks of orange, red and yellow were amazing to look at, as they appeared to be forming a wave of colors that was moving up and down as we began to get move away from Long Island and out into International waters. But the saying on Long Island on a clear day whether it is the winter,spring, summer or fall the sunrises and sunsets are always remarkable and on this cold day in the beginning of winter on Long Island was no different with a gorgeous sunrise to lead us out to sea for a 9 hour day of fishing
