Took this photograph of a fisherman bracing himself while fishing in some very rough seas aboard a charter fishing boat in New Jersey waters. The day started out fine with calm waters as we left the docks in Oceanside, New York located on the south shore of Long Island. As you can see by this photograph the right side of the boat is dipping right into a swell and getting ready to take on some water and then the swells would just throw us to the left side of the boat and do the same thing dip way down into the ocean take on some water and come back up. Got some bruises and cuts that day from bracing myself against the sides of the boat. You can see in the photo how rough the ocean was that day by comparing the almost perfect horizontal line for those conditions compared to how far down the back of the boat is dipping and the angle it is on compared to he horizon. But we still came back with our limit and some good stories.

Howard Tenke
My worst day fishing will always be better than my best day working.
John Telfer replied:
Howard I could not agree more. There is nothing better for me than being out in the ocean fishing and having my camera to capture all of the great moments
