After a great day of fishing for stripers and blues off the south shore of Long Island in the Atlantic Ocean, with about two hours left in the trip and all of my friends having maxed out on the amount of stripers and blues we could take in, the captain decided to beat the bad weather that was starting to follow us and head in, two hours ahead of time and call it a three quarter day trip instead of a full day trip. As we were racing through the ocean on our way back to the marina the first mate broke out his fillet cutting board and began to start filleting our stripers and blues that we had caught for the day. I looked back and saw a great opportunity to take a shot just as the boat was gliding smoothly through the water I sat down on one of the dry wells and caught the first mate filleting a striper with a great straight line of a white water wake being left by the speed of the boat rushing back to the marina. Over the head of the first mate the seagulls were beginning to come to the boat as the first mate was skinning the fish and throwing the skin out into the water for the seagulls to feed off of. In the far background there was a great scene of giant white fluffy clouds that almost look three dimensional. These clouds were following us as even though they looked pleasant to photograph they were filled with rain and if they had caught up with us they would make our trip difficult in getting home. The clouds had great depth to them and with the horizon in the background it completed this whole scene. Along with a great day of fishing.

I didn't know you cleaned them that quickly.
John Telfer replied:
Wayne, sometimes will fillet them if we have alot and also along ride in, or if we have a short ride in will clean them at the dock. Tomorrow I am going out for Stripers and Blackfish and maybe some Cod mixed in so we will see if will start filleting on the boat or not
