Last week I went to the famous Old Westbury Gardens and Mansion. The mansion was built by John Phipps, heir to the US Steel fortune as a promise to his British fiancee that he would build her a home in the United States that would resemble her estate in Battle Abbey. The Estate was completed and ready for Phipps, his wife and children in 1906. The mansion has 23 rooms with over 160 acres. As I was walking along the property known for its beautiful flowers and ponds I came across this cottage that was built by the Phipps family for their children to play in. It is surrounded by pansies and resembles the architecture style of a miniture tutor. The cottage contains tables and chairs and all the necessary toys for children to play with inside a house. I took various photos of the cottage from the front, back and side but really liked the way this side view came out as it showed over the beauty of the flowers in front of the side windows of the cottage and gave a nice view of the cottage.
