While relaxing recently at Long Beach on the south shore of Long Island in New York I grabbed my camera as I noticed the tide was beginning to come in, bringing with it stronger and bigger waves. As I was walking along the beach taking various photos I came across the beginning of this jetty that gave me a perfect view of the jetty extending out into the Atlantic Ocean and as the tide was coming in getting slammed by one wave after another. I got up on top of the jetty and began to time myself as the waves were hitting the jetty. Soon I found the water was making its way up to me through the cracks in the rocks in the jetty and I was beginning to feel the spray from the ocean, so I thought it would be safe to walk away before the waves started to cover the jetty which I later got a photo of. The backdrop for this photo with not one cloud in a perfect looking light blue sky.
