While getting ready to out on a charter fishing boat out of Manhassett Bay, New York located on the north shore of Long Island for some striper and bluefish action we were kept in the bay for about an hour as the water temperture which was at 55 degrees, which was perfect for striper fishing in the Long Island Sound. But overnight an unexpected cold front had come into Long Island and at the time we reached the docks at 6:30am the air temperture was 32 degrees creating a remarkable fog that we could not get through. As the sun began to rise around 7:30am we were able to make our way past Manhassett Bay and into the Long Island Sound for some fishing. But with the sun rising and the mixture of a cold air temperture and a moderate sea water temperture it created this gorgeous pastel colors across the sky and reflected off the bays waters for a beautiful scenic shot.
