While attending a Classic Car show that was sponsored by Newsday, Long Island's largest newspaper. The Classic Car show sponsored by Newsday was held at Newsday's headquarters in Melville, New York. The show had over 500 cars, trucks and motorcycles and was called the Field of Wheels Show. While at the show I saw many great looking cars but something that has been catching my eye a lot lately that forced me to create a new gallery has been Automotive Hood Ornaments, Logos and Emblems. Finding out about these pieces of art on these classic cars has been very interesting. The 1965 Ford Mustang came out with the idea of speed and thus needed a emblem that symbolized speed, the Mustang. It was designed to show the Mustang in full stride, galloping in the place it was placed the grill. One of the most recognizable logos in the automotive industry. The Mustang created the "pony car" class of American automobilessports car-like coupes with long hoods and short rear decks[4]and gave rise to competitors such as GM's Chevrolet Camaro,[5] AMC's Javelin,[6] as well as Chrysler's revamped Plymouth Barracuda and the first generation Dodge Challenger.[7] The Mustang is also credited for inspiring the designs of coups such as the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri, which were imported to the United States.
